What is the "026 Army"?
Pride in their hearts and hundreds of voices strong, the 026 Army fills the Summit Stadium and cheers on the Summit soccer teams. Their orange, maroon, and black energy flows onto the pitch anywhere the Summit Soccer Falcons play.
Part cheering section, part party, and filled with people from every part of the community and every walk of life, the 026 Army turns each game into a celebration of its love of Fenton, of Rockwood Summit, and of Summit Soccer.
If you like your sports passionate instead of passive – if you’re proud of the city of Fenton — if you are proud of Rockwood Summit - if you appreciate the Beautiful Game – YOU are the 026 Army.
No membership, no initiation, no rules, no fuss. Just come to the game and join the fun!
We like to tell people that being part of the 026 Army is about more than appreciating a soccer team and a good time. When the 026 Army cheers on Summit Soccer for 80 minutes, it’s expressing a sense of school and civic pride unparalleled in St. Louis high school sports. And that love of town — that link of Summit/Fenton/026 Army — is more than just a match-day affair.
“Proud Members of the 026 Army”
History:
The “026 Army” was created in 2010 by soccer coaches Chris Kappler and Tom Wade. Their goal was to create a fan group for the Summit Soccer boys and girls programs to generate support for the soccer teams. The 026 Army has become a fan group that not only supports the boys and girls soccer teams but is also extremely proud of the Summit soccer tradition, Rockwood Summit High School, and the Fenton community where the school is located and most of our kids are from - Fenton, MO 63026. That is a source of great pride and from that idea the "026 Army" was born, the phrase “Proud Member of the 026 Army” was adopted and bright orange was selected as the group's color to stand out in the crowd. It has grown by leaps and bounds since then. It has been very successful and in the last two years has increased exponentially. It has also become a great source of school spirit at Rockwood Summit.
